The green light for a new GRASS success story: After the concealed hinge and the double-walled drawer, the specialist for movement systems has developed another innovation that sets standards for the future. The Vionaro V8 Slim Drawer System is the slimmest steel drawer side in the world. With Vionaro V8, GRASS has made possible what seemed impossible and shown that a drawer side can be slimmed down to a thickness of eight millimetres and still be suitable for cost-effective production. This is a vision that was unthinkable until the development of the V8. “Technological progress means pushing boundaries,” comments Andreas Marosch, Head of Marketing at GRASS. “With Vionaro V8 we have created a pioneering product that challenges physical frontiers, pushing the limits of what is possible. You can't make a drawer side any thinner than that.”

Drawer side, back panel, interior front – all the individual parts are just eight millimetres thick and lend the interior of the furniture a resolutely minimalist elegance. “Vionaro V8 is an experience for the senses. Harmony in furniture and beyond

One system for all living areas: With Vionaro V8, GRASS offers the perfect solution to equip kitchen, bathroom and living room furniture with the same movement system. The purist design allows Vionaro V8 to become a cohesive link between the individual living areas – and at the same time enables optimum use of storage space. The reason: “The less space the technology occupies, the more is available for your items,” explains Andreas Marosch. 

What has been saved in terms of material width has been placed into the height of the drawer sides several times over. The V8 drawer side is 5 mm narrower, but up to 20 mm taller than other drawer systems. The V8 therefore not only offers up to 16 percent more storage space, but also, most notably, aesthetically pleasing proportions with respect to the height of the furniture front. 

A technology tried and tested millions of times over ensures the perfect movement experience: Under the Vionaro V8 drawer, the Dynapro guide system ensures excellent running characteristics, precise movement and a stable construction. Dynapro is one of the world's most successful concealed slides for full-extension slides and can be used in different versions such as with the integrated Soft-close damping system or for handle-free applications with Sensomatic or Tipmatic Soft-close.

Endless design options

The Vionaro V8 Slim Drawer System is available in five drawer side heights: from the cooker plinth drawer to the 250 mm drawer. In terms of the drawer options, the high glass drawer side stands out thanks to not needing front and back panel clips. With a variety of additions and design options, the Slim Drawer System can also be customised even further.

Sustainability in mind 

Vionaro V8 is a drawer side made solely of steel – the only one in the world that does not require any plastic elements at all. All components are joined using the latest laser welding technology. This ensures maximum stability, durability and guarantees almost one hundred per cent recyclability.

German Design Award for Vionaro V8

The German Design Award is one of the most internationally recognised design trophies. For 10 years, it has been awarded by an independent jury on behalf of the German Design Council, a foundation that supports the economic community in achieving brand value through design. In the year 2022, the innovative Vionaro V8 was one of the entrants that the jury selected to receive the award in the "Furniture" category. The reasoning for this being that, "until recently, the very idea of reducing a drawer side to 8 millimetres and, above all, making industrial production commercially viable would have been unthinkable."
