Staging openness.
Transparency is nothing new. In 2022, see-through fronts were described as “concealed openness”: Contents were made visible behind opaque glass, slats or semi-transparent fronts. In 2026, this idea matured further.
Light.
Light becomes a defining design element in the kitchen. It creates atmosphere, emphasises transparency and gives the room a special warmth and homeliness. This creates much more than just a kitchen: a living space that is not just designed, but confidently and impressively staged.
Transparency became an impressive design element at many trade fair stands: glass display cabinets on kitchen islands, solid glass drawers, open drawers, semi-transparent fronts and illuminated interiors brought order and aesthetics to the fore.
At Lube, the display cabinet returned as an elegant eye-catcher on the kitchen island. Schüller/next125 made transparency a key element, while GF Interiors opened up new insights with finely coordinated, semi-transparent solutions. Many manufacturers also staged light within the item of furniture and in the drawer – transforming storage space into a stage for personal favourites.
<p>The difference to 2022 lies in how elements are staged. Transparency no longer just means that you can see the contents. Transparency means: expanding the range of aesthetic designs. </p>
